Archiving
We are going to reintroduce record archival in the next version of SMO. In the meantime archival will not be supported.
Passwords
New users are granted temporary passwords to use the first time they login. They then have the option of changing their password to one of their choosing. If a user forgets their password, someone further 'up the hierarchy' in their organisation can reset it for them, giving them a new temporary password to regain access. This implies that nobody else but the user will ever know their password.
Appointment Authority
Several clients has requested that 'Appointment Authority' needs to be defined more specifically. For example, while it might be acceptable for a Team Leader to authorise a Referee Check, the organisation might want a Coordinator or Risk Management Officer to approve a Police Check / Working with Children Check. This work has been completed. Administrators can request refinements to their configuration as required.
Edition II Training Resources
We have created Online Training modules that match those provided in our Edition II publications. All sites have access to the Edition II Training Resources. Those sites previously using the Edition I modules still have those modules. Administrators may request their removal. Training modules are now divded into 'Core' and 'Custom' modules. Core modules are the same across all sites, while custom modules are site-specific.
Minor alterations
Clicking away from screens without saving: If a user clicks away from a screen without saving data they have entered, they will be warned that they are about to lose the unsaved data. Status: Live.
Appointment Traffic Lights: Instead of a single Traffic Light on the Member listing, a set of lights will be displayed, corresponding to each of the Appointment Criteria. This is more informative than using an orange light to indicate that some criteria have been met. Additionally, because a proportion of people are Red/Green colour blind, we have placed an 'R' or 'G' within the appropriate traffic light.
Status: Live.
Removal of 'Unassigned' Filter from Members Listing: This filter under certain circumstances allowed the user to view a range of people who they do not need to be able to see. Status: Live.
Under Development
Generating a 'Status Certificate'
We know that people move between organisations, and we have had a number of requests for a mechanism that will assist people to demonstrate that they have already completed various appointment and training steps within SMO. This is particularly valuable when both organisations use SMO. While it sounds straightforward enough, the issue is complicated by the fact that the two organisations may well have different sets of appointment criteria, and different requirements for training.
The solution we are offering is the ability for a user to generate an 'SMO Status Certificate' that displays the information held about them by an organisation, so that they can show this to another group if they desire. This provides the other group with evidence that various criteria have already been met, and should make it easier to be approved in the new organisation.
Status: We are testing this new feature prior to releasing it onto the live sites.
